"Zaha would be a perfect fit for Chelsea", says former manager

Love Sport's very own Martin Allen is backing Crystal Palace's main man to make the switch to Stamford Bridgem

Wilfried Zaha is absolutely crucial for Crystal Palace. He's a local boy, he's the talisman, and he's got that little bit of magic in his boots that most of the rest of the squad lack.

With Roy Hodgson's side 11th in the Premier League table, it's important that they hang on to their key man for the whole season. But with the January transfer window fast approaching, the vultures are beginning to circle - with Chelsea leading the pack.

In theory, the Blues are still operating under a transfer ban - but with rumours that it could be lifted, Frank Lampard may be tempted to add a bit of extra quality to his front line.

"I think it's [Chelsea moving for Zaha] something that will be on the cards. Chelsea will be desperately waiting for the result of their hearing as to whether they can sign players. Willian is out of contract in the summer, and Chelsea have to be looking for a quality replacement".

"Given the way that Chelsea dominate possession, I think Zaha will be ready to step up and really become the main man at that top level. I think he'd be a very very good acquisition".

Speaking to the station, Love Sport Radio's very own Martin Allen said that the Ivory Coast international would be a great signing for Chelsea.
