"Pellegrini doesn't know his best team" - former West Ham man SLAMS the manager

Jimmy Walker isn't convinced by Manuel Pellegrini

West Ham were tipped for big things this season. They spent a great deal of money, they have an exciting attacking line up and, in Manuel Pellegrini, they have a manager who knows what it takes to win the Premier League.

Despite all that, things aren't going to plan at the London Stadium - and what if the manager was actually part of the problem?

Speaking to Love Sport Radio, former West Ham goalkeeper Jimmy Walker said Pochettino doesn't even know his best team.

"Pellegrini must be scratching his head, because it feels like he's tried everything. He's tried different formations and tried different things, but at that level you have to know your best eleven, you've got to know how you play".

"Yes, you change things for certain games, but we don't look like we've got any kind of plan B at the moment - or even a plan A!"

"£180m spent under Pellegrini looks pretty ridiculous when you read it in black and white, doesn't it? The results just haven't been anywhere near good enough this season. We always look a yard off the pace".

It's always easy to blame the manager, but the players must take responsibility too - with Jimmy Walker suggesting that they're struggling for self belief.

"I think confidence is a huge issue. I don't think it's an attitude problem from the players, or a lack of passion. Mark Noble is in there as captain, and I don't think he'd stand for any kind of issue with attitude. I think they just need a bit of a boost - and step one is to get running around!"

Walker hinted that West Ham could be looking fo a new manager before long if results don't improve.

"I'm not going back to West Ham until the Arsenal game, and the way things are going it could be all change".
