Love Sport's very own Martin Allen is certain that Mourinho will bring success to North London
Tottenham Hotspur's decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino and appoint the notorious Jose Mourinho has proved extremely controversial. Some Spurs fans are disappointed in the manner they sacked a man who lead them to a Champions League final, with others sceptical about appointing a former Chelsea favourite.
Jose Mourinho may divide opinion, but there is one thing that simply isn't up for debate: the man is a born winner. And, speaking to Love Sport Radio, experienced manager Martin Allen said that the Portuguese gaffer will certainly bring success to Spurs.
"He'll win them trophies without a shadow of a doubt. I'm not sure it'll be pretty, but he'll do it. He even managed to win trophies at Manchester United!"
However, Mourinho isn't a miracle worker. Allen was left in no doubt that if he's going to win those trophies, the Champions League winner will need the funds to bring in new faces.
"He must know he's going to have to sign about four defenders, though! And possibly a goalkeeper, unless Gazzaniga can step up. But those forwards and midfielders are quite something - he's going to be able to field a cracking team!"
