Former eagles defender Jim Cannon asserted that the club have not progressed enough since winning promotion to the Premier League in 2013.
The South London outift were flying high earlier this season, sitting in fifth by December after a great start to this year’s campaign, but things have taken a drastic twist at Selhurst Park.
This stands to be the fifth season in a row that the Eagles finish in the bottom half of the table.
A run of 1 win from 11 leaves them ominously looming just six points off of the relegation zone and desperately needing to get back to winning ways.
Roy Hodgson is now under immense pressure to pick up some results with all the teams below Palace having a game in hand on the Croydon club who sit in 14th.

Speaking to Charlie Hawkins and Miles Blumsom on the Late Night Fans Show, 10-11PM every Wednesday on Love Sport, former Palace defender Jim Cannon said that fans had a right to feel frustrated comparing Palace’s position to that of Stoke.
“We’re in no better position now than we were five years ago so I can understand when fans get frustrated.
“We come season in season out finished in a respectable position out of relegation problems and in the end the fans turned because you’ve been in the league for five, six, seven seasons, they probably do expect that every year you’re going to move on a little bit and we haven’t done that.
“Stoke City who were in the exact same position as us five or six seasons ago.”
The Scot went on to compare this season’s results to their away form last term suggesting that the drop in standards is not acceptable and the fan reaction is to be expected.
“Last year we were in a nice position, we went away and won away from home, we’d come back home and we’d lose or draw a game; the points that we built up away made us safe but this year it’s totally different.
“I think after seven years fans are generally thinking that every year we should be getting better but I don’t think we are and obviously fans are not thinking that as well.”
