Nigel Spink thinks the Villa captain has international quality
Jack Grealish has been in electric form for Aston Villa this season. The club captain has scored four goals and racked up four assists in fourteen Premier League appearances, and some of the biggest clubs in the country are starting to circle.
But it's not just at club level that Grealish has caught the eye. Speaking to Love Sport Radio, former Aston Villa goalkeeper Nigel Spink said that Grealish should be included in the next England squad.
"I think Jack should be in the England squad, to give Gareth Southgate a really good look at him in training. England have got a whole wealth of goal scoring talent right across the midfield, but I think Jack Grealish is a part of that now".
"I had some concerns about him transferring his Championship form to the Premier League but he's absolutely done that, and let's hope he continues it for years to come".
Spink stressed that Grealish wouldn't need to join one of the league's biggest clubs to get an England call up.
"I don't think Grealish needs to leave Aston Villa to get into the England squad, and I'll tell you why. Gareth Southgate is a former Aston Villa player - I don't think he gets taken in by that London club focus or top four focus.
"Gareth knows that there's talent to be found across the Premier League, and he will certainly have an eye on an Aston Villa player if he thinks he's good enough".
