"Grealish is best off staying where he is", says Aston Villa hero

Andy Blair thinks Jack Grealish should reject any transfer advances this January

Jack Grealish has been in scintillating form for Aston Villa this season. The club captain has chipped in with six goals and five assists in nineteen appearances, and is attracting admiring glances from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Many pundits are tipping Grealish to depart Villa Park for Manchester United, with Old Trafford seen as the perfect place for him to continue his development. But not everyone agrees. Speaking to Love Sport Radio, former Aston Villa midfielder Andy Blair said that if Jack Grealish really wants to turn into a world class footballer, his best move is to stay put.

"I think Grealish is absolutely maximizing his potential where he is at Aston Villa. He's doing a great job, and he's supporting the club. Dean Smith is playing him in a position that suits him, almost the left of the front three".

"I think he's best off staying where he is, genuinely. It's the best way of continuing his career - and should it be that an opportunity presents itself for him to move to a top football club then that will be a decision for him, his family, and Aston Villa football club".

Despite Blair's best efforts to keep Grealish at the club, you get the feeling that a big move to Manchester United might prove too tantalising to turn down.
