John Salako thinks the Eagle's need for a striker could prove too strong
As soon as Chelsea's transfer ban was reduced, the transfer rumour mill started chugging away. Does Frank Lampard need a new striker? does he need a defender? Does he need a winger?
The wide area certainly seems to be where Chelsea are most determined to strengthen - with Crystal Palace star Wilfred Zaha at the top of the list. Despite his indifferent form, he certainly wouldn't come cheap.
Speaking to Love Sport Radio, Crystal Palace legend John Salako said Palace won't want to sell Wilf - but a potential swap deal for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud could prove too tempting to turn down.
"I honestly don't think Wilf will go to Chelsea. Hudson Odoi has come back, and I don't think they'll want to hinder his development. But Willian and Pedro are getting on a bit, and maybe they'll want someone to add to that".
"They could do a great little swap, though. Palace have got their eyes on Giroud, and that would be fantastic - Giroud plus money! If Palace get the right offer, they could be tempted.
Wilfred definitely has the ability [for Chelsea], and no Palace fan can begrudge him if he wants that move".
